I really got a kick out of painting the texture on the front hooves of this horse. The contrast between the colors of the fur and the hooves was fun to capture and makes for a really interesting painting You can see from the calluses on the front hoof that he’s been a hard working horse.

I just adore this little guy’s fluffy coat. Just a few weeks old, he was born in winter, so his coat is thick. Capturing the surprise he gets when the hummingbird flies off of the border towards him was such a treat to paint. I could just kiss that soft little muzzle of his! This is a companion piece to “Who’s that Out There?”, so the theme and color of the borders are very similar.

I love the innocence of this baby! He is just the cutest little thing. Very young foals are very interested in everything around them. I had the best time portraying the look of curiosity in his face looking at the butterfly outside of his world. So sweet, so tender, I love foals and I love painting them. This is a companion piece to “Who Are YOU?”, so the theme and color of the
borders are very similar.
