Black and white horsehair, black and white synthetic sinew, black and white barbed rooster hackle feathers, fresh water pearls, hand stamped sterling silver
This basket is a study in black and white. The basket bottom was created with precise rows of black horsehair bundles on top of precise rows of white horsehair bundles, giving the effect of a striped basket. When you look at the top of the basket the black and white theme is carried through with the black horsehair, white fresh water pearls, black and white braiding and the black and white rooster hackles.
It is amazing how creative you can get with just black and white and how graceful and elegant (Zandunga) the effect can be.
